Violins for Students
The violin is a difficult instrument to learn, and although I would never advocate spending a fortune on an instrument for a six year old, the cheapest instruments are enough to put any sane player or listener off for life.
I usually find that violin outfits are unplayable when they are fresh from the factory and need a fair amount of care and attention before they are fit for purpose; the strings are only good for learning intonation and possibly for use as a cheese slice. For anything above grade 2 I would recommend a set of silver-wound strings.
I can supply any of the Prima instruments (all sizes), the Westbury Outfits and The Concertante Series (full size). The prices vary considerably depending on requirements, so please call for a quote.
